Christian Surfers South Africa (CSSA) strives to give every surfer in every surfing community of South Africa the opportunity to know and follow Jesus. CSSA holds to the fundamental value and truth that according to God’s Word, God uses prayer to influence the circumstances, outcomes and daily affairs of human life.
As such, prayer is critical to achieve God’s vision for the surfers and surfing communities of South Africa.
The Pray for Surfers Network is an initiative that connects each local ministry along our coast with a national community of prayer partners in order to share prayer requests, regular feedback and praise reports. The prayer community consists of key volunteer leaders and other believers who are committed to intercede and pray for our mission.
The purpose for a community of prayer partners within CSSA is to seek God’s council and guidance for our mission through dedicated and consistent prayer. We are dependent on God, and the more people pray, the less we are dependent on our own wisdom and expertise.
The Pray for Surfers Network creates a platform for effective coordination of the prayer efforts of our nationwide mission to expand our reach and impact along our coast and achieve God’s vision for surfers and their communities. Through unity in prayer, we bring specific ministry matters, the challenges, needs, ambitions and plans of CSSA before God. Any of our decisions, efforts or programmes that we implement should be preceded and covered by prayer and be aligned with God’s will by the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Record is kept of prayer requests and feedback is given as we receive praise reports to encourage each other as we see God move and impact lives. This initiative furthermore enhances our volunteer leaders’ awareness of what’s happening in other areas of the mission.
This prayer initiative also helps to cultivate and maintain a strong united prayer culture and focus in our mission as well as creating an opportunity to mentor and coach young leaders in prayer ministry.
Lynette Grobler, based in our head office in JBay is the coordinator for this initiative. You’re welcome to contact her for more info on 042 296 2956 or firstname.lastname@example.org
